Stay away from that Chinese compressor!!! Jaguar Chinese parts :(

Let's say you come to my shop, your air conditioning in your X-type doesn't work. I diagnose it and I tell you that your problem is the compressor. I give you an estimate for about (as of today) eight hundred dollars. You ask: what if I bring my own part? The answer is heeeeelllll nooooo! You can take your car somewhere else. Cold? No. I am actually doing you a favor by refusing and urging you not to use a cheaper part. I explained this to customer that he shouldn't use a cheaper part, because they tend to last only a couple of months, come apart, and contaminate the whole system with metal particles. He didn't listen to me, he took the car to the cheaper shop next door. They put a Chinese compressor (See pics below).

And then what happened? Well, they charged him about four hundred dollars. A couple of months later he came back to us (deep inside he knows we are the Jaguar specialists) and guess what! The A/C didn't work. The compressor was the fault but... I also took out the orifice tube, and it was full of metal shavings. So besides a compressor, now the car needs a new orifice tube, a drier, back-flushing the whole system and fifteen hundred bucks (plus the four hundred). He took it to the other shop and they didn't even give him back the money! But that's his problem. Enjoy the pic of the rag with all the metal shavings that were throughout the whole system and a picture of the plugged up orifice tube:

Please take care of your kitties and don't give them Chinese parts.

  1. they are looking for raw materials. for an intact treadmill, you will get about 2 dollars. they will pay someone 20 bucks to strip the copper windings from the motor and the wires.
