dash message saying steering column locked, key turns, but no apparent power going to the starter, (2000 s type auto). Any ideas please
ReplyDeletemake sure that the security system is working properly. There should be a light in your center of ur dashboard towards the windshield. If it's linking rapidly the car is not recognizing the key for some reason.
DeleteHi. Thanks, but the light does not flash rapidly. It does not flash after the fob has unlocked the doors. I have tried both the keys I have too,
ReplyDeletethe dash says steering column locked but is it really? If the ket turns the steering column shouldn't be locked. And you said no apparent power, check for power at the starter, you could just have a bad starter, but before anything test your battery.
DeleteHi, Battery is good, no power to the starter. Steering isn't locked but something thinks it is and has immobilised the ignition. Think it may be control module, but which one and where I'm at a loss.
ReplyDeleteI see supercharged 4.2 removal, V6 intake removal. No NA 4.2 intake removal.
ReplyDeleteI havent gotten the chance to do one, next one I'll make it!
DeleteI have a 2002 s type jag that was stalling when stopped. Now engine turns over but doesn't start. Acts like not getting fuel. Checked all fuses and relays. Any ideas?
ReplyDeleteBTW this is my id. Sry
DeleteHi i have a 2003 jaguar S Type 4.2 and from nowhere the steering column just locked and i cant seem to start the vehicle, i checked the flicks on the LED light of the immobilizer and it gave me 30 flicks in the sequence of 2 and 1 and we did a diagnosis that gave us a code of P1260 did anyone ever experience such a problem before? also we checked all the fuses and they are working, and the battery has the right voltage of 12.4 but still nothing is working.
